Sun shining through clouds with open Bible

Book of God

Many people believe that the Bible is the book of God. Some have been taught this from childhood, and never questioned it. Others acknowledge the profound value of the Bible for our moral and spiritual guidance, and conclude that it must be divinely inspired. Significant effort has been devoted to demonstrating that the Bible is the book of God.

These passages from the Bible mention the divine inspiration of scripture:

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Peter 1:20-21)

As a basic principle, this Bible study accepts that the Bible is the book of God.
